“Terra” is a three-channel video projection created by Julia Oldham for a “The Observatory,” a multimedia installation by Really Large Numbers (Julia Oldham and Chad Stayrook) that envisions a post-climate change, post-apocalyptic future. The video depicts earth as a deserted wasteland with a female artificial intelligence (AI) system named Terra, performed by Oldham, who acts as both companion and guide to the remaining humans on Earth, teaching them how to navigate the harsh environment.

The Observatory is funded in part by the Oregon Arts Commission and the Ford Family Foundation and Smack Mellon.
